We live in times of frightening news headlines, where there are no shortages of examples of the breakdown of the rule of law. At times like these, it can be all too easy to think you're alone and powerless. You are neither. You are a member of a party—the Libertarian Party—that is uniquely positioned to defend our open society.
My name is John Ward, and I was recently elected chair of the LP of Sacramento. I am not content to simply sit on the sidelines anymore. Because you're reading this, I suspect that neither are you.
That's why we have scheduled an in-person meeting of local LP members starting at 6 PM on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026 at Selland's Market Cafe Broadway, located at 915 Broadway, Sacramento, CA. I hope this can be a first step towards a more visible and active local party.
This will be your opportunity to meet your new officers and to give feedback and input into the future direction of the local party. We look forward to seeing you there!
